Big Rapids is located in central Michigan and is home to about 11,000. Big Rapids is also home to Ferris State University and the Big Rapids Area Amateur Radio Club[BRAARC].
BRAARC is a ARRL special service club. The club is committed to improve the visibility of Amateur Radio as a positive force in the community by assisting in emergencies, and providing and encouraging training; as well as to further club activities for the betterment of the membership and the Amateur Radio Service. The club maintains 3 repeaters: a 2 meter repeater(146.74, -offset), a 440 repeater(443.9, +offset), and a 6 meter repeater(52.860, -offset).
January 2019 through May 2019 Monthly meetings will be held at the Meceola Central Dispatch building located at: 20701 Northland Dr. Paris, MI 49338. When attending the meetings, please follow the exterior sign directing the way to the south conference room entrance.
Monthly meetings are expected to return to the Big Rapids DPS in June 2019. The DPS building is located at: 435 North Michigan in Big Rapids.
Meetings occur the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 P.M. and all are welcome to attend.
Club breakfasts are the Saturday before the meeting at Sharron’s Country Restaurant in Rogers Heights on Northland Drive at 9AM. All are welcome to join for coffee or a hearty morning meal and great conversation.
All in-person club activities will be virtual or on-air due to the pandemic until further notice.
